Wow, that was harsh for me! But that’s how it felt. What did I get instead? Three Little girls playing at friends and practically painting each other’s toenails. I want my female villains crazy but sexy. I want Arkham Asylum to be heavily featured. I want the insane lunatics like the joker to be running amok. When I think DC, particularly anything surrounding Gotham City I expect darkness. So, what was wrong with the story for me? As Catwoman teams up with Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn, Luke must crack down before the criminals take over the city. Moving right into the apartment of Luke Fox who’s watching the City while Batman is away on a secret mission. Trained as an assassin, Selina returns to Gotham City three years later as a mysterious and filthy rich heiress called Holly Vanderhees. But when the police and the social workers come calling Selina finds herself offered an opportunity to get out of that world and help her sister in the process. Poor Selina is left fighting in the clubs of Falcone, a crime boss as part of his team of ‘leopards’ in order to earn enough money to keep her sister getting the tests and treatments she needs at the hospital. Her sister has a terminal illness and her mum is an abusive drunk. Selina Kyle lives in the East End of Gotham City. Plus how beautiful is the hardback cover? I loved Leigh Bardugo’s take on Wonderwoman Warbringer and Marie Lu’s Batman Nightwalker so to see that SJM one of my fave authors was writing about Catwoman one of my fave DC characters was so exciting. Therefore anything now has got to be even better. ToG was her first series, she wrote the ideas for the first book when she was 16. So I was excited for ToG, which turned out to be incredibly disappointing. I stayed up every night till the wee hours to finish it.
